A Canopy of Colour

As we approach the Spring season, we’re reminded of a beautiful canopy of colour we created for Habitat last year. From dangling poppies to dancing tulips, these vibrant blooms filled the room with Spring-inspired, joyful colour.

Working with Alice Wilkes Design, we were asked to dream up a playful installation and tablescape for Habitat’s Spring/Summer 2022 press event. Hosted at Carousel on Charlotte Street, for press and influencers to view the Habitat spring collection, we knew there had to be colour. Lots of colour.

For the main installation, we created an upside down, foam-free canopy made from hanging flowers in lively Spring shades. For the guests dining beneath, we wanted them to feel as though they were encapsulated in this magical floral world. Completely nestled in its natural and energetic beauty.

Giving the space vivid colour and touch-me texture, yellows, pinks and oranges jostled for attention. There were dangling orchids, pretty roses, loopy tulips, wild poppies and spring narcissi all dancing overhead with great effect. Dotted with stems of eucalyptus and Habitat bamboo baskets carrying bouncy jasmine plants for added greenery, it was a luscious affair.

Beneath this fantastical floating canopy, the tablescape mirrored the flowers used above. Sitting pretty in chic Habitat vases of sky blue and warm amber, the artful posies contrasted perfectly thanks to their lilac, orange, yellow and pink tones.

Lunch turned to dinner with the addition of Habitat candles, taking the table from fresh and fun to glowy and otherworldly by candlelight.
