Tree Ceratops & Bonkers Baubles

You know we love mad things here at The Lucas Studio, and this Christmas we’ve been working on something very fun to make celebrations feel a little different… So please give a roarrr welcome to Tree Ceratops!

Inspired by a bespoke - and really rather bonkers - Tree Rex we created last year for a dinosaur-loving little girl, this year, we took our papier mâché creations further, and made Tree Ceratops - with matching baubles.

This really is The Lucas Studio at our best. Taking your (or our) unique ideas and making them a reality. Many creative hands and minds pour love into bringing these projects to life, like we did here, with our tree-ific Ceratops.

Crafted by our papier mâché-making elf, Julie, painted in Designers Guild Madame Butterfly pink, and decorated with love hearts and lashes, Tree Ceratops carries a beautiful mini tree on her back, loaded with our upcycled, handmade papier mâché baubles, and we absolutely love her.

Of course, we couldn’t leave her there on her own, so we decorated the mantle and a full-sized Christmas tree to match. Everything in our installation (bar the neon lights) is reused, upcycled by hand or vintage. Made from repurposed baubles, of which florists use and discard thousands of each Christmas, we’ve upcycled ours the same way we made Tree Ceratops; with papier mâché and Designer’s Guild paint. Available in three designs - squiggly, hearts and googly eyes - each set of six comes with two large baubles, two medium baubles and two small baubles in an array of bold and bright colours.
